Statue of King Djoser

This is the statue found in the serdab, beside his mortuary temple and to gaze at th northern starts. Today, a replica replaces this original statue.

 

In the Cairo Museum there is a similar statue base, that is well-known for the inscribed name of Imhotep

One exceptional features of this royal statue is the presence of noble man’s names: Djoser’s great architect Imhotep was honoured by having his titles inscribed here.
