I have had only two people register an interest in joining the new C&M course which it is proposed
will start on 2nd January. For the course to proceed I need at least 8 people to sign up. So, please
can you now let me know if you would definitely like to join the course (but see below).
C&M is very similar to Kamrin and only teaches you the grammar you need to know in order to be
able to do the exercises. It is ideal for complete beginners and those just wanting to be able to read
a few lines of a funerary inscription. It is also suitable for anyone who has completed a grammar
book and wants more practice with offering formulae.
I am not going to stop anyone joining the group but it is not recommended that you join it if you are
already in the Allen 2011 group (unless, of course, you intended switching groups). The Allen
2011 group starts verbs in January and the work becomes progressively more complex and more
time-consuming. Because C&M only dip into AE grammar there is also a chance that you will
become confused.
If you are an active member of the Kamrin group, then I suggest you consult with Bob before
joining a new group.
I have put up in the C&M folder on GlyphStudy a document showing how the group would run.
I will take a decision as to whether the C&M Group will proceed in January by 11th December
(which will give us a few weeks to subscribe members to the Homework Group). So, if you
definitely want to join the group, please let me know offlist by 10th December! If you want to
discuss it with me offlist please feel free.
